About The Neighborhood Center of West Volusia

The Neighborhood Center of West Volusia’s vision is to be an integral part of the collaborative efforts to serve the homeless, to feed the hungry and to prevent homelessness in DeLand and West Volusia County.

As a 501c3, all gifts to The Neighborhood Center are tax-deductible, and contribute to the operational costs and direct client services the Neighborhood Center provides.

Thanks to community support and financial contributions, The Neighborhood Center annually provides clothing to hundreds of families through our Thrift Shoppe; 200 tons of food to thousands local residents, including families in need and the homeless; transitional housing for indigent/homeless, families and women and children; emergency housing for 400 men, women and children; and homelessness prevention services to 900 neighbors in need.

We consider our volunteers to be the heart of The Neighborhood Center, a committed group of people who are motivated by true and ongoing unconditional love. Our volunteers make a real difference by improving the quality of the lives of individuals we serve. Our work is made possible because people are still willing to give of themselves with gifts of time, energy and love. Volunteers are not extras – they are essential members of our community. The Neighborhood Center literally cannot succeed without the work of volunteers! When you join the team of volunteers at the Neighborhood Center, you join our family. Volunteers are always needed at The Neighborhood Center. Please call 386-734-8120 to speak with the Volunteer Coordinator.
