At least that’s what poet Robert Burns once said in a poem. Well , it sure happened to the V.C.C.A.  today. Let’s just call it “The Cruise That Didn’t Happen”.

Earlier this month I made reservations for a 2 hour cruise on the St. Johns River at a pretty good price plus lunch at a grille at the pier after the cruise.
We met at our usual place and arrived in plenty of time for the 10 a.m. cruise. However the Skipper wasn’t there and neither was the young lady I made reservations with. After 2 unanswered phone calls she did call back and said there were no reservations for that day…WRONG!! So I sent them a copy of the email I sent to the Club with evet details, which I could have gotten from only her.

So we couldn’t cruise so we turned to what we do best…we went to eat. The Philly Diner on Spring Garden Rd. took very good care of us. Some had breakfast and some had lunch. My Philly Cheese Steak omelet was great. After eating we all went our merry ways. I sure hope everyone got home dry because the sky looked pretty ominous and foreboding.

No decision yet if we will try that cruise again.
