On December 15th the V.C.C.A. participated in the Laying of the Wreaths on the grave sites of Veterans of our armed Services at DeLand Memorial Gardens. The day started off looking pretty dreary but we missed the rain drops. We had 10 Corvettes present, all flying our American flags.
The service was quite somber and started with a remembrance speech by Paula J. Heinrich. This was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer. Eight ceremonial wreaths were presented honoring all branches of service as well as remembering those 82,000 men and women who have not returned from active duty and are listed as POW or MIA.
This was quite an experience and one we hope to repeat in the years to come.
