As you may, or may not, know The V.C.C.A. is registered as a non-profit organization. We are quite proud to say that very little, if any, money raised is spent on the Club. We keep our chosen charities local so we can see our donations at work.
Each year we do several Homecoming events for local High Schools. For the use of our Corvettes we accept a $25.00 per car donation. This money goes directly into our Charity Fund. This is a main source of income for the Club.
On Friday, September 21st, we took part in the DeLand High School Parade. They requested 18 Corvettes and we had 21 members show up. We did use all the cars with no extra cost to the school. It may have been just a little warm. Well, this is Florida. All in all it was really a great parade.
With some of the Vettes being older, someone usually has something go wrong. This day it was Elaine Bell’s sweet looking C3 convertible. White w/red interior. The 4-speed started “shifting kinda funny” so she made a quick trip home and swapped it out for an equally sweet C4, this one is an automatic w/A.C.. Again, white w/red interior.
After the parade most of us went to O.B.’s Lounge for some really good food. O/B. is an advertiser on our website and a huge supporter of the V.C.C.A.
This was the first of five Homecoming events this year, so stay tuned for further adventures.
