On Tuesday, June 18, the V.C.C.A. was invited to Cascade Heights, an assisted living community in Longwood. We have been there before a few years ago.
We met at our usual rendezvous spot and hit the road. While driving down I4 I glanced down and yes…I was driving on EMPTY!! This is something I haven’t done in a long time.
Anyway, I got off the highway and made a wrong turn because there was no gas station for 3-4 miles so we turned around. nobody in our group seen me pull into the station (???) so we got separated. We did manage to arrive only a few minutes later than planned.
Cascade Heights is a very nice place and the residents were very friendly as was their management. At 12:30 we entered the dinning room and sat down to a very good lunch from a very good menu.
About midway through our meal, one of the wives said something like…”Hey guys, it’s raining”.
You never saw 7 or 8 people running so fast. Naturally it was a beautiful Florida afternoon when we went inside. Everybody had their tops down or off. Not a pretty sight. we all got soaked for sure.
To add insult to injury my Targa Top decided to not go on very easy. Twenty minutes and 4 or 5 members later (thank you fellas) my top was in place and we were on our way. We may return again but in cooler, drier weather.
As for me, that C6 with a pushbutton top is looking better by the day. This is not the first time the top has done this to me!
