Here we  go again, doing more STUFF! We started off with the Pine Ridge High School Homecoming football game on Friday evening. Things went well for us but not so much for the football team. We had eight (8) Corvettes parading around the track with the student dignitaries (and zero burnouts). Their donation to our Charity Fund is $25.00 per vehicle which we use to assist those in our area who need a little help.

Everything went smoothly so, as usual, we headed off for a late dinner. Just up the road was a Beef O’Brady’s so we chose it because it was close. Hey, we were hungry. Food and service were both very good. We were there a while and by the time some of us got home it was fairly late.

Saturday morning 8:30 a.m. we meet at the Cocky Rooster for a real good breakfast. Let me tell you there were some tired cowboys and cowgirls that morning. By the time we got out of there it was time to go home and clean the Corvettes for Sunday’s show.

Sunday’s show was put on by Flagler County Corvette Club. We do this every year and it’s always a great show. This is Florida so it was hot. We walked over to a Coffee & Donut shop for a starter. That walk made us thirsty so a little later we walked over to Finn’s for an adult beverage or two.

Of the six V.C.C.A. Corvettes entered we received three (3) trophies. Kim Lee for her C-6 Roadster, Mike Bruck for his C-2 Roadster and myself for my C-4 Coupe. This was Kim’s first ever Corvette show so that was way cool! She also took down 5 door prizes.

It was HOT, did I mention that?? So, we pulled out about 3 p.m. and drove about 2 miles to my favorite all-time restaurant on the entire planet…Oceanside Grille. Food and service was great, as usual.

After lunch Buzz Gunn lead us around “The Loop” for a scenic drive home. Ya know how it seems someone in the group has to have a problem? It’s called Murphy’s Law. Jim Brown got his food last AGAIN but that’s not it. It was my turn, 8-10 miles from home as I was going around a curve my steering got very stiff very fast! Yup, lost my serpentine belt.  No powers steering, no A.C. so I drove the “tank” home and tomorrow it’s off to the shop. I guess things like that makes life more interesting.
